About
I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years, holding a variety of roles during that time. What started as a passion for writing patient education materials in plain, simple language has grown into a mission to make all documents easier for people to read.
Why the Old System Needs to Change
Why are so many documents still written in language that most people cannot understand? Have you ever tried to read a title agreement? Or the paperwork you receive when opening a checking account? Or a legal document full of jargon? Too often, these materials are nearly impossible to decipher.
Experience
Through my years of experience editing and writing patient education documents, consent forms, legal documents, and newsletters, I have learned what works - and what doesn’t work. I’ve studied the research on best practices for clear writing and consistently apply those methods in my work. I also continue to review new findings to keep improving and evolving this practice.
I strongly believe that everyone has the right to receive documents that are accessible, easy to read, and meaningful.
